Nokia To Come Back? All You Need To Know!

Nokia, last decade’s mobile phone giant. It has a 150 years of glorious history. It was founded in 1865  by Fredrik Idestam. Nokia launched it’s 1st fully functional phone in 1987 called Mobira Cityman 900. Nokia 3310 and 1100 is pretty well known and popular phones of the company. Nokia 1100, in those days break all the records of selling and became the highest selling phone ever. In 2006 Nokia launched N73, their 1st smartphone running Symbian OS. Then they launched series of smartphone with Symbian OS. Nokia was doing pretty well with smartphone market till 2010. After 2010, because of iPhone and popular smartphone OS named as Android, Nokia’s phone market started collapsing. At last in 2014 Nokia had to sell it’s smartphone division to Microsoft (a software giant). Microsoft buy Nokia mobile division for almost 4.7 billion dollars, it was  one of the largest amount deal done by any company in a history. After selling the mobile division, they started to work on network equipment.

On July 14, 2015, Nokia’s CEO Rajeev Suri confirmed that Nokia’s gonna come back in the smartphone market in 2016. Nokia will follow the brand licensing model because they will not be able to manufacture smartphone following that they had sold its mobile division to Microsoft. A few days ago Microsoft sold it’s Nokia branded mobile division to FIH mobile. Nokia is going to re-license it’s brand name via a new company named as HMD Global. HMD Global a Finland based company will help to produce and sell Nokia’s new Android based smartphones. FIH mobile and HMD global agreed to support the Nokia for relaunching its brand. Foxconn is also in the participation. Foxconn has also created a tablet for Nokia named N1, back in 2014 after the deal with Microsoft. Three of this companies are collectively going to work together to produce and sell Nokia phones again.

Considering all this, we are definitely going to see Nokia branded Android smartphones by end of this year. According to latest leaks, Nokia is set to launch two smartphones at the end of this year. According to rumors new smartphone will be called as C1 and A1. They will be sporting 5.2 and 5.5 inch OLED screens with 2K (QHD) resolution. It will have Nokia’s clear-black display technology which create more deep blacks. It also rumored to have IP68 certification, which is water and dust-proof, same as we seen in Moto G3 last year or in Galaxy S7 this year. Both phones will run on Android 7.0 Nougat. It will have Nokia’s it’s own Z-launcher based system UI. Talking about camera, from leaks it seems that it houses 13 MP camera with Nokia’s PureView technology, same one’s we have seen in Nokia Lumia 1020. Speaking of SoC it will run on latest Snapdragon 820 chipset with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Here’s the leaked image of one of Nokia’s phone:
